- Councillor Flett and Councillor McGugan attended Ontario Association of Sewage Industry Services Town Hall on June 7 in Belmore. A discussion on the future of septic hauler discharge to the sewage lagoons took place. Staff was directed to bring back a report including options for discharge station(s), disposal on certified lands and cost recovery.
- Councillor Flett inquired about decorative Canadian flags on the light poles that she had noticed in other towns and if Huron-Kinloss had the opportunity to put up these flags. The CAO noted that the flags flown on the town light poles are purchased by community groups and the Township volunteers to hang the flags and store the flags.
- Councillor Gibson inquired about an update on the Bell Mobility Tower at the Point Clark Community Centre. Staff was directed to provide an update. Councillor Gibson also noted that a discussion had taken place at the Lucknow and District Fire Board meeting with regards to a satelite fire station along the lakeshore and if there is an opportunity to share services and costs with the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.
- Councillor McGugan noted that he has concerns about the newly paved section on Grey Ox Ave. In less that 24 hours after being paved, the road had wear that appears to be from horse and carriages. He stated that the road looked great, but has been damaged noting the cost maintaining the roads in the Township. Staff was directed to go and view and document the damage.
