9.1

Integrity Commissioners Report 

The role of the Integrity Commissioner is to help ensure that Members of Council perform their functions in accordance with the Code of Conduct and other procedures, rules, or policies governing their ethical behaviour and investigates any formal complaints received. H. G. Elston is the Integrity Commissioner for the Township of Huron-Kinloss. 

The Integrity Commissioner investigated the complaint against the Deputy Mayor and has determined that the Deputy Mayor did not breach the Code of Conduct and has dismissed the complaint.  The report is included as information. 

9.2

Ombudsman - Closed Meeting Investigation

A member of the public can request an investigation of a Closed Session Meeting (Section 239.1 and 239.2), if they feel a meeting was closed improperly. The Ombudsman is the closed meeting investigator for the Township of Huron-Kinloss. 

The Ombudsman received a complaint regarding the closed meetings held on October 4, November 1, 2021, and February 18, 2022.  Following an investigation, the Ombudsman has found that the meetings were appropriately closed.  The full report is included as information.
